An interview with Ericka Hornak, DPT, a Physical Therapist at PRO Rehabilitation Services who has been with the company since 2009.

Tell us about your business, your locations, your team and your customers:
PRO Rehab is a privately-owned outpatient physical and occupational therapy company with 13 locations across NEPA. We have been thankful to service the area for over 22 years. Four of our clinics have a warm water rehab pools and two clinics integrate with Athletic Republic, a sister company focused on sports performance training.

Our team is made of up of physical therapists, occupational therapists and physical therapy assistants, and we provide treatment for individuals ages from 5-100, all with very specific needs. All of our professionals are very passionate and highly educated, and we all have one focus—our patient.

Why did you choose to join the Back Mountain Chamber?
As an organization, PRO Rehab aims to make a difference in the lives of people in our community, not only professionally but personally. Our leadership and team members love to be a part of the communities we serve and give back to those who help our business to thrive. Many of our team members live in the Back Mountain and are invested in the community. The Chamber encourages business and community members to interact and work together, and we are thankful to be a part of such an amazing group of people.

Have you changed your business at all due to impacts of COVID-19?
Our focus remains strong—keeping our patients moving. We remained open every day thru the pandemic to provide necessary services to our patients. We have always been mindful of cleanliness in our clinics. Now more than ever we continue that focus by continuing with cleaning/disinfecting efforts. We have multiple sanitizing stations for everyone’s use. We are taking temperatures to screen patients and still limiting visitor activity. Our staff and patients are wearing masks, and we have focused our attention on maintaining physical distancing while balancing patient safety. Patient safety is our number one concern. Patients need to feel comfortable coming into our clinic. For those patients who are feeling uneasy about coming to the clinic, we are also able to provide Telerehab option.

What’s your favorite thing about doing businesses in NEPA?
The people in NEPA are so nice and welcoming and they want to support local businesses. I have had the pleasure of helping to start two of PRO’s clinics in the area and both times I have felt such a warm and welcoming presence from the surrounding community.

Share something interesting about your business that most people don’t know:
Most of our referrals come from past patients, and our patients feel comfortable in our facilities. The greatest honor a business can have is taking care of a patient referred by another.

Our therapists have many specialty areas—aquatic, return to work, Vertigo and balance, Parkinson’s treatment, sports rehab—just to name a few.

Our connection with Athletic Republic is pretty unique. Our Dallas clinic offers a connected space and we work with athletes to help them be 110% on their game. We’ve seen great success by connecting the individualized approach with rehab and sports performance training.

Our website—www.prorehab.org—is the best place to learn more about our company.
